Merchandisers are the master planners. Long Range Forecast Planning (LRP) information is typically passed to the Merchandiser from the executive team. The Merchandiser will take the LRP and input the numbers into the Strategy Plan which is a dashboard of agreed criteria. This step populates the Master Assortment Plan which drives critical information to Sales Planning and Product Planning. The Sales Plan informs regional channel assortment and account strategy. The Product Plan informs collection assortment and sourcing strategy.
